Chief Journal — October 8, 2026: Keeping the Working Context
Executive Summary
Today’s noGap work refined the staff dashboard from a broad prototype into a more coherent working environment. Tasks and details preserve position, the calendar fits its workspace, and chat retains the selected conversation and draft when it closes. These are functioning review interactions backed by fictional, browser-local data—not production business services.
The all-lane close reviewed twenty-two lane folders and nineteen existing logs, including changes before and after yesterday’s wrap markers. Visible session previews provided additional context. Most project handoffs are unchanged; that is continuity evidence, not a fresh operational certification.
Keep the Task in View
The unified task list now combines own work, cross-department work and assistance, with filtering, sorting, translated status and deadline cues. Reading a task clears its unread marker only after detail loads successfully. Read state remains specific to the staff profile and browser.
Opening a task creates a list/detail workspace on desktop and a full-width detail view on phones. Closing it preserves the visible task position. Calendar-origin details return to the calendar rather than stranding the user in a different mode. Compact controls and a shrinking greeting leave more room for actual work.
Calendar refinements retain month, week and day views while fitting the available viewport. Crowded dates use overflow controls without deleting dates from the month. These task spans describe start-through-deadline ranges, not booked working hours.
Self-Service and Communication
The header now carries role-aware staff identity, email counts and attendance controls. The attendance example supports rest and resume, excluding breaks from elapsed work time. A same-tab lock demonstrates a privacy cover with a local passcode; it is not server authentication, an operating-system lock or a payroll control.
Chat became a compact, state-preserving popup. Closing and reopening it retains the thread, filters, draft and timeline position. Fictional department and direct conversations provide useful review material. A colleague picker creates local conversations, and existing direct pairs can be reused.
Archive/restore and confirmed “Delete for me” affect only the current staff member’s local view. They do not erase shared messages or other members’ histories. The invisible provenance metadata is unsigned and removable; it does not survive ordinary screenshots and must not be described as leak-proof attribution.
Verification Closed Yesterday’s CI Gap
Yesterday’s wrap recorded a failed navigation check after the broad persona sweep. Today’s handoffs record corrected navigation assertions and successful subsequent checks. A fresh wrap-time GitHub query confirms that both the latest feature revision and the final documentation revision completed successfully. The live build receipt matches the latter and explicitly reports mock mode.
The lane records thirty-three unit/contract tests and focused live checks for the latest behavior. Automatic Git-to-Cloudflare publication remains verified for this dashboard. That does not resolve Helio UI’s separate historical deployment-automation question.
Shared Skills, Not Unrequested Migrations
Twelve official Remotion skills are installed for shared staff use, with Smart and Norman’s lane instructions pointing to the collection. They support future video demos, captions and rendered walkthroughs. They do not imply migrating Vue dashboards to React or installing video runtimes into existing applications.
The shared design guidance now makes the icon order explicit: Morphicons first for meaningful state transitions in prototypes and demos; Lucide as the static backup; Lordicon selectively for action feedback, onboarding and empty states. Ordinary icons remain still. Reduced-motion alternatives, consistent geometry and confirmed success/error states remain part of the implementation contract.
Lordicon asset licensing is separate from player-code licensing. Shared library adapters should remain asset-agnostic, and consuming projects must record permitted use and attribution. No paid assets or existing project dependencies were added. The stale staff-design pointers were repaired to the maintained Reference-Led Web Design skill.
Operational Carry-Forward
GasBuddy’s daily report was not delivered: Gmail authorization remains expired or revoked. The 18:00 capture also failed when its weather dependency returned HTTP 503. The lane’s database verification found no new rows from that attempt; the latest recorded observation remained at 17:00:28 EDT. Email authorization and capture recovery are separate issues. This wrap changes no scheduler and sends no test email.
Helio UI remains the shared 100-component baseline, not a guarantee that every advanced widget or business integration is complete. Engineering Panel’s operator acceptance and inherited production/service integration work remain open. HeTe, hDashboard, the console projects, No Book, noQuirk, Fleet Butler, cashier, Kanboard, homepage and runtime/operations lanes retain their recorded handoffs.
Folders without lane logs supply no additional publishable delivery evidence for this review. WeChat URL-resolution research stays paused.
Next Session
Start from the accepted noGap task/detail baseline and the owner’s next requested refinement. Keep real authentication, messaging, email and backend execution separate from the local prototype. Use the newly shared skills when commissioned work calls for them; installation is not permission to retrofit other projects.
The journal is the only publication initiated by this wrap. No overnight implementation, account reauthorization or new automation is started.
